Next off how are your cable lines, did the install tech do a schotty job or did he run everything proper, I know you might not know this (haha) but installers have a tendency to half ass jobs at times, especially if running behind on their day. First off, what kind of modem did you get, as some are known to run weaker than others, if you have hold of a modem capable of docsys 2 than you should be alright. To be honest, your upload is near norm, not bad as there are fluctuations in the network from node to node, it really depends on the quality of your lines, but your problems aren't all that great, I'm not sure about your download though, being in southeastern Milwaukee, our division offers over 3M down, unless you're going through a router, then your download is a bit off. Again, you will need to have the tech try EVERYTHING above to fix this since the tech will leave if they don't find any problems (or if you tell them that you are getting 3.5~3.6Mbps!) Good luck! PS: I know from my 11 months experience with RR Tier 2 tech support that if you ask for a manager or ask for a tech to come out, they will escalate you to the local Time Warner/Bright House office so the office can schedule someone to come out to your house. My advertised speed is 3Mbps download and 384 Kbps upload - which is feasible but would love to get around your limit of 3.6Mbps on each computer! lol I expect evreything to get around 800-900 Kbps - to my surprise that only happens during the evenings or mornings. ![]() All of my computers get under 1 Mbps - around 500-600 Kbps. I am on a Roger's cable connection, running 3 computers behind an SMC wired router. It depends if you can convince the techs to do this for you But yes, replacing the modem or having them tweak/tinker your line/signal strength will fix it for sure (maybe new Coax or lines from your house to the signal poles). ![]() You can still ask for a RR tech to come out but, to be quite honest, they will think it is not a problem since, again, your getting more than 2.5 Mbps. I am not trying to be rude or anything or insulting you in any way but I think your connection is alright since it is over half of 5 Mbps i.e.
